2  1970-Xerox opens Palo Alto research center.  1971-RCA sells its computer division.  1972-Hewlett Packard announces its hp- 30.  1973-The Micril was invented.  1974-Xeroxes palo alto research center designed the Alto.  1975-Xerox closes its computer division.

3  1985-The Amiga 1000 is released.  1995-Java is introduced.  2001-Xbox is released.  2002-Over 1 billion pc’s have been sold.  2005-Ebay gets Skype.  2006-Skype has over 100,000 users.

5  CPU stands for central processing unit. It is almost like the brain of the computer.

6  A video card is a expansion card that allow the computer to send graphical information to a video display like the monitor.

7  RAM stands for random access memory. You can access any memory cell directly if you know the row and column it is on.

10  USB stands for universal serial bus connector. It allows you to plug in mice, keyboards, and printers.

11  PCI stands for peripheral component interconnect. PCI’s include stuff like network cards and sound cards.
