Overview of Training Material M1 - Water resource management: use, disposal, supply & demand management; pricing & tarriffs in water sector M2 - Water Framework Directive: explanation of aspects of the WFD; impact on all waters; economics; public participation; deadlines M3 – National legislation relating to WFD: transposition to Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, UK

Overview of Training Material M4 – Surface Water: water body and type; ecological status; chemical status; monitoring; programmes of measures M5 – Groundwater: water types & eco-regions; chemical-physical & ecological water quality; contamination; modified water bodies (artificial, significant) M6 – Computer Supported Methods: databases; graphical information systems; simulation models, internet

Overview of Training Material M7 – Economics of water management: methods & tools for economic accounting; environment & resource costs; cost recovery M8 – Public Participation: participation models & methods; experiences in 5 MS; formal & public participation

Certification of Training Course Course certified by CIWEM in UK – important for CPD in business setting (CPD = continuing professional development) Also reviewed case for allocating ‘credits’ towards overall degree, for university students undertaking NEPTUN training course

Good Practice A selection of ‘good practice’ in water management case studies presented on NEPTUN portal 4-5 examples from each partner country
