4 Introduction You get a chance to travel all over the world! You will be visiting different countries, meeting different people, and seeing different animals! You have before sundown to complete the activities listed. Good luck, and I hope you brought your passport!

5 Task It’s 8:00 a.m. and you just arrived in your first country of the day, Mexico. You are going to visit 4 countries in all. You will click on links at the bottom of the page to complete fun activities about each country you visit. Remember to write or draw all of your responses so you can share them with the rest of the class!

6 Process You will be exploring the world with the partners your teacher gave you. Remember to follow directions and fill out the paper your teacher gave you as you start to explore. You will travel to different websites to learn more about the world. Each website will have an activity for you to complete. To get started, click on where it says, “A Kid’s Life in Mexico”, at the bottom of the page. Read the story about Carmen. Write down one food that people like to eat in Mexico, and one sport that is played in Mexico. A Kid’s Life in Mexico

7 Process 5. Next, click “Mexico Quiz”, at the bottom of this page. Don’t worry, this quiz is for fun! Take the quiz then write down how many you got correct. Mexico Quiz

8 Process 6. You just landed in Australia. For your first activity in this beautiful country, click on “Animals in Australia” at the bottom of this page. Once you get to the website, click one of the animals in the purple ovals. Read about that animal and then draw a picture of it including the name of the animal. Animals in Australia

9 Process Now that you have looked at some animals in Australia, let’s look at how people from Australia talk! We know that they speak English, like many of us, but do they use different words? Write down 2 different words and their meanings in Australia by clicking on “Australian Words” at the bottom of this page. Australian Words

10 Process After learning about Australia, you hop a plane to Japan. Click on “Japan” at the bottom of this page to learn more about the Japanese flag. After reading about the flag, draw a picture of the Japanese flag and then write what the circle represents on the flag. Japan

11 Process Now, you are going to explore Japan’s tallest mountain, Mt. Fuji. Click on “Mt Fuji” at the bottom of this page. When a page comes up with several pictures of Mt. Fuji, click on one. Continue looking through these pictures by clicking ‘next’ just under the picture to the right. Look through at least 5 pictures and then come back here to catch a plane to Brazil! Mt. Fuji

12 Process Your last country to visit is Brazil. It’s very hot there! I hope you brought sunscreen! Click on “Map of Brazil” at the bottom of this page. On your paper, write down the capital city of Brazil (look for the star) as well as one other city name you see on the map! Map of Brazil

13 Process Now that you have learned a little about the cities in Brazil, you will be exploring famous people from Brazil. Click on “Brazilian People” at the bottom of this page. Once the page comes up, choose ONE person in orange writing. Write down the name of that person and why he or she was famous. Brazilian People

14 Evaluation Great Job! You journey around the world is complete! You will need to turn your papers into me. I will look to see if you followed directions and wrote down information about each website that you visited. I hope you learned a lot about the 4 countries you visited!

15 Conclusion It is important to learn about other countries and how they are the similar and different from the United States. Learning about other countries helps us better understand others and how to respect other cultures and people.
