1 Amazing Kangaroos By Kareahna, Maia, Alexandra,

2 Habitat Kangaroos live in forests, woodlands, and grass plains in Australia, Papau New Guinea and a few nearby islands and desserts.

3 Diet Kangaroos do not need lots of water. They get water from the leaves and grass.

4 Adaptations They jump fast to get away from predators. The pouch hides the baby from predators. Kangaroos use their strong tail for balancing while they jump.

5 EVOLUTION Some scientists think kangaroos evolved from opossums but other scientists think theyre their own species.

6 Baby Kangaroos are permanently pregnant. If a joey is lost or if one has grown up and left the pouch kangaroos can immediately give birth again.

7 Population There are 58,000 kangaroos in the world.
