Pronouns take the place of nouns. The word or phrase replaced by a pronoun is called an antecedent!

Let’s see an example; Halloween is One Of America’s holidays. İt is celebrated in October. Halloween it is a noun. İt is a pronoun that refers to the antecedent,halloween

Personal Pronouns They refer to specific people or things. These are my, I, me, mine, you, your, yours, he, him, his, she, her, hers, it, its, they, their, them, we, us, our, ours.

Example; Karen ate pizza. Karen ate pizza. She was hungry. She was hungry. The word “she” is a personal pronoun that refers to Karen. The word “she” is a personal pronoun that refers to Karen.

Reflexive Pronouns They are personal pronouns that have “-self” or “-selves” added to the end.

For example; *Sarah finished the homework himself. -The reflexive pronoun is “himself”

Indefinite pronouns They are pronouns that do not refer to a specific person or thing. Someone, anybody and everyone are indefinite pronouns

Example; Someone stole my wallet! *The word “someone” is the indefinite pronoun.

Compound subjects & objects *A compound subject has more than one subject joined by a conjuction (and,or,nor)

*A compound object has more than one object joined by a conjuction.

Pronouns used in comparisons You must need to correct pronoun in a comparisons because using the incorrect pronoun could change the meaning of your sentence.

For instance : -Jim likes basketball more than I- Means: Jim likes basketball more than I do -Jim likes basketball more than me-Means: Jim likes basketball more than he likes me

Who & Whom Who is always a subject; whom is always an object. -Who delivered the this package.-This package was delivered to him.

Tips correct word: for choosing the =If the pronoun performs the action, choose who; if it does not perform the action, choose whom.

=In sentences other than questions, when the pronoun is followed by a verb use who; when the pronoun is followed by a noun or pronoun, use whom.

For example; We wanted to know who starred in the movie. The person with whom I carpooled was my neighbour

Let's see examples: I didn't see anyone there. Nobody wants to go anywhere. I blamed myself for the fight. She is talking to herself.
