3. Today as many as 420 pupils attend our school.Our staff consists of 28 experienced teachers. The headmaster mgr Andrzej Biernacki – the principal mgr Elżbieta Firlej - vice - director

4. Students of our school are engaged in the activity of Student Council.The pupils involved are a group of energetic young people who are particularly concerned with the school image and they are contributing a lot to the great tradition of our school.Their main objective is to integrate students’ community by:  Making the first class students have the same rights and privileges as the rest of the school community.

5.  the trips aiming at integration and meeting friends among students from the first form of secondary school  annual organisation of special balls falling for 100 days before the maturity exam. Students graduating from the school are in charge of organising these events  The „last ball”- official farewell of students graduating from the school

6. Education at our school Our school enables the student to learn the following subjects included in the curriculum: Polish language, history, geography, biology, ecology, mathematics, physics, chemistry, citizenship education, regional education, European education, elements of economics and law, market adaptation.We put an emphasis on learning foreign languages: English, French, German,Italian, Russian. Our students can choose classes with different specialisations: -providing basic knowledge of all the subjects ( so called general ) -computer science enabling to continue education at different technical departments

7. - language course at advanced level ( the students choose the language ) - ecological ( offering the specialisation in biology,chemistry and ecology - specialized in arts ( with extra classes in Polish, history, regional educational, culture knowledge

8. We have a modern computer classroom and a computerized library

9. There are a lot of sports facilities:  large gym,  small gym,  a room adapted for doing fitness exercises as well as exercises in correction gymnastics. Our students eagerly participate in sports competitions with other schools. They achieve very good results.

10. In April 1999 in V LO in Sosnowiec the European Club was established. The determinants of our mission among the youth is activity, access to information and knowledge.Therefore the words uttered by Paul Henry Spaak: „The real European citizen is one who is never discouraged” are very up-to-date and describe us the best. The Club is the forum open to everyone who wants to express support to European integration.

13. Within the European Club activity we take different initiatives and steps: -We organized the local conference with the title:,,The role of human rights defenders and charity missions in new, unifying nations Europe”.

14. -The members of our European Club participated in the youth conference: „Through education to Europe”, which took place in the Parliament in Warsaw. We were also organizers of the debate,,Europe of religions”

15. We organized: I Conference of European Clubs of High Schools.

16. We took part in the Forum of Dialogue in the Congress Hall in Warsaw Our members are engaged in many contests and competitions in European education.

17. The European Post Stamp is another project we realized in our school. Students were to design a post stamp for common Europe.
