3. Ита́лия - the state in the south of Europe, in the centre of the Mediterranean. The country is named on этнониму a tribe италики. Very narrow strait of Messina separates Calabria from Sicily, and Sicilian (or Tunisian) passage in width of 135 km - Sicily from the North Africa. Tyrrhenian sea represents the pool of the triangular form framed with Sardinia, Corsica, Tuscan archipelago, Apenninsky peninsula and Sicily.
