1- Christians who believe in the immortality of the soul believe that the body is not needed after death and therefore its organs can be used to help the living.
2- Christians who believe in the resurrection believe St Paul’s words that the body will be transformed and that resurrection will not need the physical organs.

10. 3-Jesus told Christians that they should love their neighbours and leaving your organs to save lives after your death is a way of loving your neighbour
4-Jesus also told Christians to treat others as they would wish to be treated by them. And most Christians would want a transplant if they needed it.
5-Christians object to paying for organs because it is likely to lead to exploiting the poor (fathers selling their kidneys to feed families). The Bible is full of statements about exploiting the poor.

11. Some Christians will not agree with transplant at all and will not carry a donor card so they will refuse any organ donation.
They believe that transplants could disregard the sanctity of life. Will surgeons who have a patient desperate for a transplant work to the best of their ability to save the life of a potential donor?

12. They believe that transplanting organs is usurping God’s role and it is wrong to ‘play God’
It raises the problem of when someone is dead, as such things as heart transplants require the heart to be removed before it has stopped beating.
It raises the moral/emotional problem: does a surgeon save life of an unknown accident victim or the patient they know who needs a transplant?
It diverts resources from prevention or less expensive cures which could improve the lives of far more people than a single transplant

13. Some Christians are opposed to transplant surgery using organs from dead people, but accept transplants using organs donated by living relatives. They would not allow such organs to be paid for. This attitude is based on:
The Christian belief that organs such as the heart are an intrinsic part of the individual who has been created by God
Transplanting organs from the dead into the living is usurping the role of God, and humans do not have the right to act of God
