The last part of the Creed I believe in ….. The church, communion of saints Forgiveness of Sins Resurrection of the Body Life everlasting

The Church When you believe, you automatically are in Christ’s body, the church You automatically have over a billion brothers and sisters in Christ Wherever you travel, you can benefit from worshipping with them

The communion of saints Communion means togetherness Saints means believers We are one huge group including the believers who have already died

The forgiveness of sins It is forgiveness that we all need, And it is forgiveness that we all have in common. It is forgiveness that holds us together, because we are bound to do things that need forgiveness

By saying, I believe in the forgiveness of sins --- You agree that God has “transferred you from the Kingdom of Darkness into the kingdom of His Beloved Son, in whom you have Redemption, the FORGIVENSS OF SINS” (Colossians 1:13-14) so … you won’t bathe in GUILT or SELF-PITY

By saying, I believe in the forgiveness of sins --- You agree to forgive others, since Jesus said “Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as WE FORGIVE the wrongs that others have done to us. (Matthew 6:12, Good News Bible

By saying, I believe in the forgiveness of sins --- You agree that Jesus DID give you the authority to forgive sins, when he said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven.” (John 20:22) When the pastor pronounces forgiveness to us, we believe it is as real as if God himself has said it to us.

By saying, I believe in the forgiveness of sins --- You agree with Jesus’ words “I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven: what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven.” (Mt 16:19) That’s why the pastor’s role to pronounce forgiveness is called “The Office of the Keys.”

The life everlasting First John says we KNOW that we already have eternal life. “this life is “in His son” (That is, if you have Jesus, you have eternal life). You have it already --- when you die, you continue having it.

Details of the end No one knows when the world will end If you area already dead, you will rise and will be with Jesus If you are still alive when it ends, you will immediately go to be with Jesus

The next life New Heavens and a new earth --- this means a new universe No more crying or pain It will be eternal life We’ll be in the presence of God (Revelation 21)

Jesus rose ---- so …. We will rise He is with us everywhere He sends the Holy Spirit He gives us New Life He is praying for us

CLOSING PRAYER Dear God Thank you for all the promises you have given to us. We put our life into your hands. We forgive others, just as you have forgiven us.
