Valcea, Romania Corresponding author e-mail: iordache.ioan@icsi.ro The main idea of those projects was/is the exchange of ideas, problems, and results which are involved in this topic in both countries. The coordinators of both countries are carrying on related researches and they know the real technical problems associated with remediation processes. They will be convening together, have workshops, meetings and have a chance to look around the related industry. Also, the results of bilateral activities will be published as scientifically papers with co-authorship or technical reports (for research authorities). This project will establish the basis for co- operation not only between two groups but also environmental engineering and researchers in both countries. Actual project, named “The investigation, remediation and monitoring of soil and groundwater contamination; exchange of ideas and development of cooperative research projects”, acronym INREMAS, is coordinated by PhD. Eng. Iordache Ioan, National Research&Development Institute for Cryogenics and Isotopic Technologies - ICSI Rm. Valcea, Romania and Professor Cho Jong Soo, Catholic University, Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Seoul, Korea, is developing by both research entities in 2010-2011. Last project, named “The advanced Treatment of Water and Wastewater with Ultrasound”, acronym TWWU, was coordinated by PhD. Eng. David Elena, ICSI Rm. Valcea, Romania and Professor Khim Jeehyeong, Dept. of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Eng., Korea University, Seoul, Korea, was carried on between 2008 and 2009. The reciprocal visits were to provide participants the opportunity to present the results and conclusions reached by following scientific experiments in the field of ultrasounds. On this occasion, participants tried to establish international consortia that can apply together on different types of projects. Another objective of the project was to have scientific contributions to various conferences and publishing articles in magazines or other publications. Results of this project consisted in: two reciprocal visits, two session of seminars in Romanian, collaboration with other institutes, e.g. ECOIND Rm. Valcea or industrial body, e.g. S.C. Oltchim S.A.; one web page and 10 scientifically contribution, as poster or articles. 7 th International Conference of the Chemical Societies of the South-Eastern European Countries on «Chemistry – Beauty and Application» Participants in the projects ICSI Rm. ValceaCatholic University of Korea Korea University Acknowledges Participants express their acknowledges to national authorities (ANCS-Romania and Ministry of Education-Korea). ICSI-Rm. Valcea thank to INCD-ECOIND and OLTCHIM for their useful support.
