To put together a home network –get two or more computers –get a network interface card for each computer $20 each, $80 for laptops (most now have a built-in LAN connection) –get a network hub, $30 to $80 –get network cables, $5 each –connect everything together –configure the software TCP/IP for Internet connection NetBEUI for file and printer sharing

To connect your home network to the Internet –get a high-speed Internet connection (Cable modem or DSL) –get a DSL/Cable router to replace the hub, $90 –plug the computers into the router –plug the DSL/Cable connection into the router –configure the connection
