1 INTRO: (Establish importance of first 3 years and connect it to sameness/differences.) Text: As librarians who work with children, it's important to know that we all learn so much during the first three years of life.

2 Text: We learn to sit up on our own. Image: Baby or toddler sitting up

3 Text: We learn to make noises. Image: Image of baby or toddler with open mouth or with a facial expression that implies sound.

4 Text: We learn to walk. Image: Image of baby or toddler walking.

5 Text: We learn to read. Image: Image of young child with a book.

6 Text: We are the same Image: Choose multiple pictures of young children engaged in similar activities.

7 Text: We are also different. Image: Pictures that show obvious difference(s) between children.

8 Text: We need different things. Image: Choose several photos of young children that illustrated how different their needs are. Ex: Learning difficulties, autism, down syndrome, deaf, blind?

9 Text: ALA Core Competencies supporting diversity. Text: Children need to read books that have people who look like them. Text: Children also need to read books about different people/cultures/places.
