INTRO: (Establish importance of first 3 years and connect it to sameness/differences.) Text: As librarians who work with children, it's important to know that we all learn so much during the first three years of life.

Text: ALA Core Competencies supporting diversity. Text: Children need to read books that have people who look like them. Text: Children also need to read books about different people/cultures/places.

Text: Reiterate the importance of learning in the first 3 years of life. Text: Create a diverse collection of books at your library. Image(s): Share images of 4 or 5 books that promote diversity in some way. Ex: Todd Parr’s It’s Okay to Be Different.
