2 ASHA for Education Asha is 100% volunteer driven, NGO that supports quality education efforts for children from a disadvantaged background Asha is a zero-overhead organization – 100% of donation received are disbursed to schools / projects. All administrative expenses are borne by volunteers. Asha is non-hierarchical and has all meeting minutes posted on the Asha website.

3 ASHA for Education: Bangalore Chapter Asha Bangalore members meet once or twice a month; first and third Sunday every month (at Lal Bagh at11:00 am). ASHA Bangalore supports 5 projects dealing in diverse areas such as alternative education, vocational training and after-school efforts, among other things.

Team Asha A group of like-minded individuals, beginners to advanced runners, who train and run for a cause. Raise awareness and funds to support Asha’s projects. 6 How to fund-raise? Decide!! To help raise funds for ASHA. Commit: Commit to raise a certain amount of funds. Commit on your running goal or event that you will use to raise funds …….. Having a dead- line and target helps! Web Page: Team Asha will set up a web page for you where you write about why you want to raise funds. Use your network, go beyond: You reach out to your family, friends and colleagues and request them to support your cause by sponsoring a few km of your run.

7 What support to expect from ASHA Web Page: Team Asha will set up a web page for you where you write about why you want to raise funds. Payment portal: Web-site offers an option to pay by credit-card for donations received from US. Donation made in INR may be made by cheque or bank transfer. Tax exemption receipts: Donors from India can claim an exemption on income tax under Section 80 G. Donations made in USD may be claimed as exemption under 501(c)(3). Site-visits: Visits to the various schools through the training season so we can get a first-hand look at the schools. Visits may include a run with the kids.

Among the community efforts that RH supports Asha is an important one Introduction to running for few RH members has been through running to raise funds for Asha Bangalore RH gives a 50% discount on your training fees if you choose to fundraise for Asha-supported projects. 8
