Define your Project Why do you want to embark on this particular project? Be clear about the intention of your project.

Describe your Project What is it about? What is the theme and proposed technique(s) used? Why? What has inspired you? Are trying out a new concept/technique or a continuation of a previous project? What do you intend to communicate to the audience? What is innovative/new about it?

Research Research = Central component of every artist’s practice → Background information on skills & techniques → Gathering ideas on styles and interpretation → Knowing what has been done What did you learn from your research?

The Artwork What are you going to do/make and how? What is the type of work? How big will it be? Will it be one work or a series of several pieces?

Visual Information Present your sketches -- drawings, photos, video (storyboard) → This will help the judges to know the process you went through and determine the originality of the project.

Visual Information Have good quality visual material and make sure it is relevant to the project. Make sure the images are in focus, correctly lit and are in the relevant and appropriate. Depending on the project, it may be appropriate for you to produce models using three dimensional materials.

The Materials Describe the materials you are going to use. What is your experience working with the materials? → Show visual examples

Cat 5 – Evaluation Rubrics Prelims Group will advance to Semi-Finals if the mark awarded to their project is an average (of all judges) of 25 and above.

Cat 5 – Evaluation Rubrics Prelims – Oral Presentation Criteria 8910 Organization & Structure of Presentation (Includes Use of Visual Aids) The presentation was informative and presented in an interesting or persuasive manner. Students demonstrated excellent understanding of their objectives. Links and connections between ideas were made clear. Information was relevant and well expressed in their own words. Points were well-organized and developed with sufficient and appropriate details. The presentation was summed up clearly and effectively towards the end. Visual aids were carefully prepared and supported the presentation effectively. They added impact and interest to the presentation.

Identified the highest achievable standards of quality as acceptable outcomes.
