Budget; 47 milj. € Vocational Education Centre Sedu provides high quality education and student welfare. The national curriculum sets the goals and ensures the quality of education in Finland. Majority of the students start their studies at the age of 16. Completing the vocational qualification takes 3 years.

6 Demand for professionals The students can choose the most interesting programme from a large number of different options. They also can take the matriculation examination with a overall study length from 3 to 3½ years. 12 Quality Of Education Students will step in to the work-life easier due to the good situation in the labour market. Further studies don’t attract as much as in the past. Vocational education is appreciated, and all the vocational qualifications grant eligibility for further studies: the graduates can apply for admission to universities of applied sciences and universities. 12 Vocational Education Centre Sedu, Finland

13 w w w.s e d u. fi / 2 0 0 7/ R L Quality Of Education Studies take place in different environments: –workshops, laboratories, teaching restaurants, work-life, web- life, projects (intrenational, entrepreneurial, Start-project for vocational studies ) etc. Students can influence their own individual study plans. In order to guarantee the effectiveness of individual study plans, the studies include at least 1.5 credits of guidance counselling. In addition, students receive personal guidance and support according to their own needs. Students can complete –an upper secondary qualification and – the general upper secondary school matriculation examination in parallel.

17 Entrepreneurship possibilities in Finland ; Case; Sedu Entrepreneurship –Internal  To work always as you work in your own company ! You have to do your best every day !  Attitude –External  To found an enterprise. The first rule is ”Your own will. 19 Case; Entrepreneurship at Sedu Young Enterprises ( about 45 enterprises with 200 students) Virtual Entrepreneur- games / Virtual Training Companies /Virtual International Programmes Every January; National / International Entrepreneurship- Conference in Seinäjoki. 20 Case; Entrepreneurship at Sedu 24 hour-camp for new students every year; team-work, exercises, orientation for studies, find business-ideas… YE minicamps; 6 hours camp ; team-work, check-exercises Regional YE - fair during Enterpreneurship Conference National YE –fair International YE- fair The Questionnaire Skolarship for Entrepreneurship in 2010 -2011 by University of Applied Sciences –Why? 1) There is no systematic knowledge at the individual level about the impact of many actions have done 2) The aim is to develope and to test a measure to identify individual –level changes in entrepreneurial intentions

Students can do their on-the-job-learning in their own companies –YE –Cooperate enterprise  Sedu has ”umbrella-cooperate-enterprise ”and under that students can found their own cooperate-enterprises OMA ONNI ”Your Own happiness” project; Vocational Students have made virtual studies from your own houseeeping for pupils of primary school (at first they made questions to find knowledge?) Idea is; From Youth to Teenagers with the same ” youth language”! Survival Day; cooperation with Companies, Fire department, Police, Army reserves, Healthy serices, Scouts…  for internal entrepreneur
