Vital Statistics Slide 2 – Vital Statistics Date and place of birth Date and place of death Places that they lived Age they began composing music Family members

Time Period Slide 3 – Time Period The time period or era when the composer wrote music (ex: Baroque, Classical, Romantic or 20 th Century) Dates labeling that time period (ex. Classical 1750 – 1800) Name at least two other composers from that time period Describe something interesting about that time period.

Training Slide 4 – Training Composers or musicians that they studied with if this applies How did they begin studying music Who influenced their desire to study music

Instruments and Style of Music Slide 5 Musical Instruments Instruments played by your composer Styles of music written (ex. Orchestral music-written for orchestra, chamber music written for small instrumental ensemble, etc) Give an explanation or definition for each style of music. Use the glossary in your composer packets for help!

Compositions Slide 6 – compositions (pieces of music) Name 2 or 3 different compositions Give a short explanation about the pieces – give a little background about the piece itself or about when it was written. (ex. If it comes from an opera, give a brief description of the opera’s story)

Accomplishments & Interesting Facts Slide 7 – Accomplishments Name any important accomplishments of the composer Interesting facts about their lives Number of pieces written, honors received or any college degrees.
