Points instructor needs to bring out: Everyone has positive characteristics. When we focus on our positive attributes, we will feel better about ourselves and others. We are all unique, with different strengths. It takes many different types of strengths to build a strong community and world. On days when it may be difficult to see the good in ourselves, pull out this exercise and review those things that you feel good about. Encourage others to recognize their positive characteristics. Often times complimenting others helps us feel good about ourselves as well.

As you go throughout the week, continue recognizing the things you like about yourself. It could be related to hobbies, skills, academics, relationships, service, etc. As you recognize your strengths, add them to your diagram. Review them when you are feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or need a personal boost!
