7 Citipower and Powercor Customers You need to help customers bind the eKo IHD unit with smart meter. Action required: 1.Collect NMI and Meter Number from customer 2.Pick a eKo IHD unit from stock and find its MAC Address and Install Code 3.Modify the XML file accordingly 4.Submit the XML binding request to Powercor FTP server 5.Wait for confirmation from Powercor 6.Give the eKo IHD unit to May to send out 7.Notify the customer 7

NMI (National Meter Identifier) Valid value range: 6102000000 – 6103999999; 6203000000 -- 6204999999 Can be found on power bill Meter Number Example: A3254439, B0204284, B0204284, CZ251097, DZ133984 Can be found on power bill Can be found on the front label of smart meter 8

10 CitiPower and Powercor Customers Modify XML file Open the sample Bind Request XML file with any text editor Fill in the NMI, Meter Number, IHD MAC Address and IHD Installation Code into the XML Binding Request 10

11 Citipower and Powercor Customers Submit the binding reqeust to FTP FTP: Server: eftp.powercor.com.au Protocol: SFTP Username: s-Intercel Password: C2({Ce{plr Intercel firwall blocks the FTP traffic, please use mobile hotspot to connect Upload the XML file to Inbound folder Upload the FTPintercel.ok file to inbound folder 11

12 Citipower and Powercor Customers Confirmation from Powercor The submitted binding request will be executed the next business day 2PM. (Binding Window Open) Connect to FTP and check the Outbound folder Check the response XML files If the matched NMI has status code 100, it is a success binding request. Otherwise, check the Powercor document Interface Functional Specification_AP The binding window will stay open for 20 days Customer needs to power on the eKo IHD at home and press the middle button to start binding process 12

14 Citipower and Powercor Customers Notify the customer Notify the customer that eKo is shipped and need to power on and press the middle button on eKo IHD to start binding process 14

15 Known eKo Software Issue 1 Importance: Critical Symptom key words: short communication range Description: eKo’s Tx radio transmitting power is 10 times less than expected due to a hardware design failure in Lawrence team. The eKo can only work in very short distance, like below 10 meters which makes the eKo hard to use and prone to lost connection issue. Fix?: There is no fix. Hardware (antenna, amplifier) redesign is required. Solution: Move the IHD closer to smart meter 15

16 Known eKo Software Issue 2 Importance: Critical Symptom key words: “Connection Lost”, ”eKo has been de-registered from meter”, “Error CA00” Description: When smart meter failed to communicate with eKo IHD, the smart meter will send “Leave Network(but you can come back anytime)” to eKo IHD. eKo IHD receives this command and left network without noticing that smart meter allows the eKo IHD come back, so all the security tokens are cleared and no way for IHD to join back. Fix?: There is no fix. Both Lawrence team and Texas Instrument support failed to fix. Solution: Citipower/Powercor customers have 2 options: Re-Bind eKo IHD: repeat the actions in slide page 7 Return and refund Jemena/United Energy customers have 2 options: Delete the eKo IHD from Jemena/United Energy web portal, re-bind the eKo IHD Return and refund 16
