Daily Schedule 9:00-9:15 Morning Meeting 9:15-10:00 Math 10:00-10:20 Recess 10:20-11:00 Reader’s Workshop 11:00-12:00 Centers 12:00-12:30 Lunch 12:30-12:45 Rest Time 12:45-1:45 Writer’s Workshop 1:45-2:00 Music and Movement 2:00-2:15 Recess 2:15-3:00 S.S./Science 3:00-3:15 Clean-up/Pack-up 3:15-3:45 Dismissal *On Thursdays, Writer’s Workshop is replaced with an Art Project and Social Studies/Science becomes a Science Lab.

English Language Arts – Reading Will assess before conferences, report card, and end of the year. – Compare/Contrast different types of texts (fiction, nonfiction, and poetry) – Writing narratives, opinions, and information text – Author/Illustrator

Mathematics – Counting/ Indentifying Numbers Up to 100 – Skip-counting 2s, 5s, 10s – Comparing numbers – Addition and Subtraction – Shapes Identifying, comparing, and building 2D and 3D

Social Studies/Science – State and National Symbols – Community Helpers – Historical Figures – Compare and Contrast locations and people – Animal and plant lifecycles – Weather – Conservation

Homework – Weekly packet – Goes home Monday – Due back the following Monday – Homework Folder (yellow) – Math, Reading Log, and Writing (hand or journal) Home Study – Experiential learning – “Teachable Moments” – Blog accountability – Blaze the Husky

Getting Involved Centers Sign-Ups –Sign-ups go out at the beginning of the month Room Mom/Dad –Take photos for yearbook, help plan field trips, other awesome things ;) PTO Guest Speaker?
