History of Halloween Halloween is an international holiday celebrated on October. Halloween started in America in the nineteenth century when Irish immigrants brought over different versions. The term Halloween is shortened from All Hallows' Even (both "even" and "eve" are abbreviations of "evening

Halloween Traditions In parts of England there is a traditional festival called Mischief Night which falls on November 4.During this festival children play a range of “tricks” on adults. On Halloween night in present-day Ireland, adults and children dress up as creatures from the underworld, light bonfires, and enjoy spectacular fireworks displays – in particular, the city of Derry is home to the largest organized Halloween celebration on the island, in the form of a street carnival and fireworks display.
