Two ways to become a prospective group: Interest is expressed by a student or administrator Fraternity targets a particular campus Prospective group status automatically occurs as soon as interest is received from a campus and/or verified by the National Office

1 interested student Permission to operate on campus Present orientations to students & advisors Sign acknowledgment of APO policies Risk Management/Membership Submit Interest Group Application to National Office

Requirements to be a petitioning group: Recruit at least 5 student members Present orientations to students & advisors Obtain a campus mailing address Sign acknowledgement of APO policies Collect a fee of $25 per person Submit Petitioning Group Application and fees to the National Office Hold petitioning ceremony once approved

Chartering requirements are the most involved and detailed Wide variety of tasks to be completed Service, Leadership Development, Fellowship Events Developing Chapter Operations Write Bylaws Recruit members and advisors Administrative Requirements

Create programs and function like a chapter Process Timeline from Petitioning -> Charter 20 – 45 academic weeks 25 petitioners, with 20 of them returning to school the next semester in order to charter Chartering Ceremony is held

Program to help the transition from extension group to active chapter Several volunteers involved Transition support of newly chartered chapter Helps chapter set new goals Encourages members to continue striving for excellence Up to 3 years following chartering
