2 The capital of Wales Cardiff was proclaimed capital of Wales in 1955, and is Europe's youngest capital city. Situated on the Bristol Channel, Cardiff has a proud heritage of being one of the great seaports of the world.

4 Cardiff Castle History of Cardiff Castle has more than 2000 years. The excavations suggest that the Roman legions arrived in this region during the reign of Emperor Nero (54 - 68 years.). Having conquered the warlike tribe of the Silurian and sending their leader Caractacus in Rome, the Roman army invaded the South Wales and built at the mouth of the River Taff on the bank of the Bristol Bay first fortification. Around 250 at this place was built a new fortress with thick stone walls, which for two centuries, until the V century.

5 Millennium Stadium The Millennium Stadium (Welsh: Stadiwm y Mileniwm) is the national stadium of Wales, located in the capital city, Cardiff. It is the home of the Wales national rugby union team and also frequently stages games of the Wales national football team, but is also host to many other large-scale events, such as the Tsunami Relief concert, the Super Special Stageof Wales Rally Great Britain, the Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain, and various music concerts. It was built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

6 National Museum Cardiff. National Museum of Wales was founded in 1907, inheriting the museum's collection of Cardiff, located in the building of the Cardiff Central Library. Construction of the new museum building in Cardiff began in 1912 in Katays Park, but due to World War II and was not open to the public until 1927. Architects were Arnold Dunbar Smith and Cecil Brewer, but the modern look of the building has changed significantly
