New Testament Names of God Same basic understanding of God as in OT but focusing on fewer aspects of His nature – God as Creator, King, Saviour, Judge Dominant concept is of God as Father – Fatherhood of God is a minor part of OT – 250x in NT & in every book of the NT (ex. 3 Jn)

Justified or Adopted? Justification Made righteous before a Holy God Forensic issue – rooted in Law & God is Judge We are no longer liable to death for our sins Adoption Made sons & daughters before a loving Father Family issue – rooted in love & Father choosing us We are no longer liable to live as orphans – not lost and alone, on your own.
