4 notice the change in these last 3 verses. What is the point here? what do you think the key word is?

5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. Rom 12:5 For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts. Hebrews 6:10,11

9 AFFIRMING ONE ANOTHER’S: equal importance in Christ My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? James 2:1 HOW to be a friend: having a mindset that refuses to be impressed with the world’s status making it a practice of building relationships across racial, economic, and cultural barriers.

10 AFFIRMING ONE ANOTHER: by communicating love and affection in a visible way Greet one another with a holy kiss. Greet each other in Christian love Romans 16:16 HOW to be a friend: to show warmth for each other in an appropriate manner to speak about our love for each other to listen to each other

11 SHARING WITH ONE ANOTHER: our goods, our time, our homes Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thess 5:15 HOW to be a family: invite each other into our homes meeting needs of each other - running errands, giving our time, money being available

12 SHARING WITH ONE ANOTHER: burdens and joys Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ Gal 6:2 HOW to be a family: laugh with each other cry with each other encourage each other

13 SHARING WITH ONE ANOTHER: our faith Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Col. 3:16 HOW to be a family: discuss and apply scripture with each other agree on the majors don’t focus on the minors

14 SERVING ONE ANOTHER: through accountability You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. Heb 3:13 HOW to be a servant: become part of a group of believers to whom you regularly meet and are accountable to

15 SERVING ONE ANOTHER: through forgiveness and reconciliation Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Eph 4:31,32 HOW to be a servant: be first to forgive/reconcile be patient over small irritations pray before you speak/act seek counsel before you speak/act

16 SERVING ONE ANOTHER: by being last Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Php. 2:3,4 HOW to be a servant: deliberately look for needs around you and meet them seek as little recognition as possible

19 ROMANS 12:10-16 MAKE A LIST OF THE THINGS THAT LOVE DOES 1.Love is honest, it speaks truth gently, but firmly. 2.Love makes people feel honored and valuable. 3.Love is generous with our homes, money, and time. 4.Love doesn’t pay back wrongs against us. 5.Love is willing to get emotionally involved with others. 6.Love associates with all kinds of people who are different than you. different than you.
