TOMORROW'S ENGINEERS WORKSHOPS On Friday October 16th the "Tomorrow's Engineers" team will be visiting Wyedean to work with 90 students on activities linked to engineering. The day is an opportunity for Y8 students who are interested in engineering as a career, enjoy Science or just enjoy designing things to experience some activities in these fields.

THE ACTIVITIES 9-10 Around the World Show. A presentation by an engineer on what engineering is all about, what engineers do and how they can help to make our world a better place. 10.00- 1.20- Three workshops on a rotation (1 hour each) ‘I Engineer’- a challenge where students comple a hands-on, interactive engineering challenge with VEX Robots and the test their solutions in a competition. ‘Engineering X Factor’- Shatter the myths that surround engineering and discover the key skills and qualifications required to follow a career in engineering using a variety of problems and brain teasers. ‘The Drawing Board’- A Dragon’s Den style activity giving students the chance to put their product or solution ideas to an industry expert.

WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE For you to gain an insight into engineering as a career To see how what you cover in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects can lead into engineering careers To see what opportunities could be available to you as future engineers For you to enjoy yourselves and learn something at the same time
