3 Tuesday 11CP How Each Group Impacted the American Dream Monday— 25 to 30 minutes Use research of at least TWO outside sources and your three-column entries from Friday to answer questions #1 and #4 listed on the handout for your assigned historical group. (IN WRITING!) Use computer research to find out about characteristics of the time period / philosophy, major writings, historical and modern connections, and key people. Through this process, you should have a firm understanding of the core tenets associated with your philosophy.

4 Tuesday 11CP How Each Group Impacted the American Dream Monday— 25 to 30 minutes: Using your understanding of the assigned primary sources, your responses to the questions, and your individual research, create a concept map on chart paper or poster board. –Use pictures, symbols, and words to represent the information learned regarding the specific philosophy (Puritans, Revolutionaries, Transcendentalists) –include a copy or a created image of the additional primary sources/research sources you locate. Include characteristics of the philosophy, major writings, historical and modern connections, and key people on your poster.

5 Tuesday 11Cp Presentations: two steps 15 minutes: Present the map to your historical group (all Puritans together, all Revolutionaries together, all Transcendentalists together). Make any additions or changes—be inspired by each other. 30 minutes: Move into a jigsaw group with one Puritan poster, one Revolutionary poster, and one Transcendentalist poster. Mrs. Christiansen will group you. Each group is responsible for giving its group a comprehensive overview of its assigned philosophy.
