6 My experience of ‘cultural partnerships’ At my previous school (Charles Edward Brooke, Lambeth): Workshops with Tomorrow’s Warriors Summer residencies at the British Film Institute Workshops with animateur Hannah Conway Schools’ workshops at LSO St Luke’s and the Southbank Centre Lambeth Music Festival at the Southbank Centre Visits to concerts and shows At my current school (Woodford County High School, Redbridge): Pre-concert workshops through the Wigmore Hall Education programme In-school workshop with Kinetika Bloco Students entering Royal Opera House ‘Fanfare’ competition Redbridge Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall Visits to concerts, operas, ballets and shows

7 How? -Look up education programmes on websites -Make contact with organisations- and be persistent! -Join mailing lists -Check your emails regularly...!

8 Potential problems... -Getting students (and staff) off-timetable -Relatively short notice of concert dates etc. -Costs – tickets, transport, workshop charges... If all else fails... -Evening concerts -Workshops after school -Run your own workshops – resources and INSET available
