Example Zambia 3 Projects 2000 – 2018 General situation in Zambia: After the economic decline between 1970 and 2000, all internal structures and services are in need, especially in rural regions. Officially health care is free of charge. But there is a lack of medicine and educated staff. Zambia has a priority in the German governmental aid programme.

Page 5 We help! 1. Lusaka 2000 – 2011 Eye clinic of 40 beds to supply more than 2 million people with ophtalmic care; up to 1,000 operations per year; also center of instruction and training. Partners: Lions, German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Christoffel Blindenmission (CBM) History: Planning 1999, Construction, Completion and inauguration until 2011 Amount: € 888,000 (BMZ: € 366,000; Lions € 122,000; CBM: € 400,000)
