ENERGY ENERGY IS THE CAPACITY OF AN OBJECT OR A BODY TO TRANSFORM AN ENERGY SOURCE INTO WORK

TYPES OF ENERGY MECHANICAL ENERGY ELECTRICAL ENERGY ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY SOUND ENERGY CHEMICAL ENERGY NUCLEAR ENERGY THERMAL OR CALORIFIC ENERGY

ELECTRICAL ENERGY IT MAKES ELECTRICALLY POWERED MACHINES WORK WHEN THEY´RE CONNECTED TO A SUPPLY OF ELECRICITY ELECTROMAGNETIC TRANSPORTED BY ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES LUMINOUS ENERGYIS A TYPE OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY GENERATED BY THE SUN OR ARTIFICIAL LIGHTS CHEMICAL STORED IN SUBSTANCES, IT CAN BE RELEASED OR ABSORBED DURING CHEMICAL PROCESS NUCLEAR CONTAINED IN THE NUCLEI OF ATOMS IT IS RELEASED DURING NUCLEAR REACTIONS SOUND ASSOCIATED WITH SOUND WAVES THAT ARE TRANSMITTED THROUGH VIBRATIONS KINETIC ENERGY: IS THE ENERGY THAT OBJECTS HAVE WHEN THEY´RE IN MOTION. POTENTIAL ENERGY: IS THE ENERGY THAT OBJECTS HAVE WHEN THEY´RE MOVED FROM THEIR STABLE POSITION OF EQUIIBRIUM

ENERGY SOURCES NON-RENEWABLE NUCLEAR ENERGY: NUCLEAR FUSSION:JOIN TO FORM A HEAVIER NUCLEUS NUCLEAR FISSION:SPLIT INTO TWO LIGHTER NUCLEI COAL ENERGY : OPEN-CAST MINES UNDERGROUND MINES PETROLEUM ENERGY: OIL TANKERS OIL PIPELINES NATURAL GAS: IT’S EXTRACTED BY DRILLING IT’S TRANSPORT LIQUID

NON-RENEWABLE ENERGIES AND THE ENVIRONMENT INCREASED GREENHOUSE EFFECT ACID RAIN OIL SPILLS NUCLEAR WASTE RISING WATER TEMPERATURE ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION

HEAT ENGINES External combustion engines Steam engine Steam turbine Internal combustion engine Combustion engine Turbojet

T HE FOUR - STROKE CYCLE 1. Intake : the intake valve opens. The piston descends from the top to the botton of the cylindrel and mixture of fuel and air enters the cylinder 2. Compression : the intake valve closed. The piston rises and compresses the mixture 3. Combustion power : a spark from the distributor ignites the compresed mixture. The gases expand and push the piston down. Thies is when power is produced. 4. Exhaust : the exhaut valve open. The piston pushes the hot gases out, and a new cycle begins

Energy Capacity of an object to transform an energy into work Types of energy Maechanical, nuclear, thermal or calorific, chemical, electrical, electromagnetic, sound Transformation The law of conservation of energy : energy can not be create or destroyed it can be only transformed Measurement Joules, in the international system and calories Energy sources Natural resources that provide different forms of energy N on-renewable Nuclear, energy from fossils fuels, coal, petroleum, natural gas Renewable Hydraulic, solar, wind, marine, geothermal, biomass, MSW. Heat engines Transform thermal energy from a fuel into mechanical energy to perform work External combustion engine Steam engine and steam turbine Internal combustion engine Combustion engine and turboject
