2 The purpose of the educational enrichment program is to provide college enrichment opportunities for students in high school Not all courses are available to enrichment students. Generally, courses of remedial nature, courses for which failing grades were earned (either in HS or college), and courses required for HS graduation are do not meet the intent and spirit of the program.

3  Junior or Senior (summer after sophomore year)  2.5 High School cumulative GPA  Approval from HS Principal and HS Counselor  Verifying 180 minutes on HS campus  Coursework HS is authorizing student to take at CC  Approval from Parent  Approval from Community College

4 A COMPLETED APPLICATION INCLUDES:  Online Admission Application (as of Spring 2014, enrichment students have access to the SCCCD online admission application – October 1 for spring and April 1 for summer/fall; term select year and enrich (example: 2014enrich)  Enrichment Application – with all signatures  High School Transcripts  Placement Test – if required (see HS counselor for exemptions)  FERPA – release of information form  Special Admittance letters, if appropriate

5  Provisional students during each semester of attendance  Required to submit a new admission application and enrichment application each semester (including current HS transcripts)  As of summer 2011, all enrichment students are required to wait until the first day of school to attempt to add class(es)  Tuition fees and health fees are waived for enrichment students  2 classes (11 units) limit

6 Applies to the following:  Students below 11 th grade  Students who are underage (14 years of age or younger)  Students below the minimum 2.5 GPA  Students who have received a “D”, “F”, “I”, or “NP” in a prior enrichment course  Students requesting more than 2 courses and/or more than 11 units

7 Special Admittance Petition Requirements:  SCCCD Online Admission Application  Educational Enrichment Application  Letter of Recommendations  Current Placement Test scores  Reviewed by Enrichment Counselor  Reviewed by Vice President

8  Complete Online Admission Application  Complete Enrichment Application  Enrichment counselor will review to ensure packet is complete  If approved, packet will be processed by A&R  Sit in on the class(es) & get authorization code  Register in person in A&R
