What do I do if I want to work ahead? Go to the 8 th Grade Research Webpage Download any necessary forms. Check with your teachers if you have questions.

How long should my essay be? Your essay must be 3-6 pages or 7-10 for A With Distinction. You should include the following: an introduction paragraph, body paragraphs to answer questions, and a conclusion paragraph.

Font and Margins Times New Roman 12-point Font Double-space 1 inch margins on top, bottom, and sides

How do I save my work? It is strongly recommended that all students use GoogleDocs and NoodleTools to save your work. Students will create accounts for GoogleDocs and NoodleTools in school. It is also a good idea to e-mail yourself with an attachment or copy and paste saved work in the body of an e-mail.

“A With Distinction” Students who demonstrate exemplary work on the research paper and who meet specific criteria established by the eighth grade teachers will achieve the status of an ‘A’ “With Distinction.” For criteria, see page of 15 of the manual. Cedarbrook faculty and administrators will acknowledge students who attain this level of work during eighth grade graduation ceremonies.

What happens if I turn in assignments late? The only assignment that will receive credit late is the final draft. You will lose 10% (5 points) for each day that the final draft is late.

When are assignments due? As indicated on page 2 of the timeline, all assignments are due in the specified class at the beginning of that class. All work must be printed and ready to be submitted or shared through NoodleTools at the beginning of the class when it is due!!! Assignments that are not printed in advance will be considered late.
