ES&H Issues (J. Levine) Received NJ Safety Award for 7 consecutive years without lost time accident - Let us keep up the good work! Heath/Safety is the foundation of what we do! It is essential for building our exciting future! - Please keep mentally/physically alert on safety. - Please follow safety rules and procedures. - If in doubt, please ask! - Please keep yourself safe and healthy (do best you can!) "STOP" Safety Training Observation Program is being implemented at PPPL. - All injuries and occupational illnesses can be prevented. - Employee involvement is essential - peer safety observation and discussion. - Prevention of personal injuries is good business. Safely, Safely, Safely Please complete: Mandatory on-line cyber security and sexual harassment trainings!

Please make sure everyone understand the NSTX Test Cell Access Rules: The rule can change with the radiation level in the NTC - Please be alert! - With NTC access permit and your own radiation badge, you can access yourself not others. - Escorting people without NTC access permit would require the Health Physics issued radiation badge and proper paper work. - Removal of exposed material from NTC (passed through the doors) requires Health Physics radiation survey. - Only items brought in during the non-operating day can be brought out without the radiation survey. Please Follow NTC Access Rules!

The highest priority of the US fusion program is participation in ITER which is based on tokamak concept. Experiments planned in NSTX (closely related to tokamak) promise many exciting discoveries that should directly impact our ability to understand the new plasma regimes expected in ITER ST may also prove to be a prototype for the next step for the US domestic fusion program. Proposed upgrades for NSTX can keep this facility at the forefront of fusion science research in the world well into the future. As such, a concentration on the ST better positions PPPL to remain a center of excellence for fusion energy and plasma sciences, and thereby compete for new areas of leadership in the future fusion program. Let us work together to meet this high expectation and deliver even more!
