9th ITPA Confinement Database and Modelling Topical Physics Group meeting in St. Petersburg 2/5 Aims and overview Paper describes updates to and analysis of DB3 from 1994 – 2004. Data from 18 machines of different sizes and shapes. DB now contains D-T, low A, dim. Scan… data + more data from range of divertors and high , n and I p. Physics: shape, fuelling, core and edge, dimensionless parameters, comparison with 1d transport codes Statistics: error estimates, EIV, reducing correlations Key aim of DB is ITER predictions: recommended scalings
