Label pencil box with name Complete Student Information Sheet and return before leaving Put supplies in designated areas Take a wish list item from the door Skyward-If you need to update any of your information or a password for Skyward (grade book), please stop by the computer lab and someone will help you

First Day Please try not to cry in front of your child. We do not want them to think school is a scary place. If your child is upset on the first day, the faster you give them hugs and say goodbye, the faster they will stop crying when you leave. I will be here and another teacher will be here to hug/hold anyone that needs it while you slip out. Book for student to read on Sunday night at bedtime

Send every day! Calendar, Guided Reading Folder, Homework Notes –Please call the office if your child is going to be absent and send a note when they return to school (within 3 days) –Children must be here 90% of the year in order to move on to first grade Money (in baggie with first and last name, grade level, and what it is for) –Breakfast $1.00 –Lunch $2.05 Please wait to start coming to eat with your child until after the second week of school to cut down on separation anxiety. Must have driver’s license to enter the building. Take Home Notebook

Social Contracts Created 1 st week of school Promotes Self-managing classroom Teacher & student expectations for each other Breaking contract will result in social accountability

Discipline I will handle discipline issues in the classroom. If there is a concern or a repetitive problem, I will contact you to make you aware of the situation and ask for your help.

Guided Reading Students are tested and leveled at the beginning of the year You should start seeing box come home by the start of the second six weeks Read with teacher at least 2x week Bring home guided folder daily Sign reading log Do not write on the reading log Keep in backpack daily Use strategy reminders to guide students

Homework Will start the second six weeks Read something every night! Guided reading book when sent home Homework will be sent home on Monday and due on Friday Please show any work in notebook in binder Projects on occasion

Arrival and Dismissal Doors open at 7:25. Must be at school by 7:50. You may park and walk your child in the first two days. If the student needs to eat breakfast, make sure to arrive in enough time for that to happen before 7:50. Students will wait in gym to be picked up by teacher at 7:50 We dismiss from the side gym door. We will walk out at 2:50. We will sit along the wall out front under the awning. Please have car sign in window to make the pick up process go faster. If you are picking up more than one child, you may use the first entrance off of Trinity street. Bus riders will have bus numbers written on them in washable marker. Please send me a note if there is going to be a ride change. I cannot change how a student goes home without a note. Please call with all ride changes before 2:00.

Additional Supplies 1 – 1 inch binders With clear cover 1 – Set of headphones or ear buds If you have not purchased supplies yet, please skip buying skinny markers. You may want to purchase additional spiral notebooks for your student while they are still on sale.

Please take a supply item for our classroom from the cabinet. Mrs. Anderson and her class really appreciate your help. Please be sure to stay and ask any questions or if you need to tell me something personal about your child.
