1 Criminal Justice Intervention Team First contact for adult offenders with drug/alcohol issues. Drug/Alcohol Arrest Referral Service South Gloucestershire Integrated Substance Misuse Model A&E drug and alcohol liaison service at Frenchay Hospital Cannabis Intervention Programme, 4 group work sessions South Gloucestershire IMPACT targetting persistent offenders Monthly groups run at UWE around alcohol and cannabis use.

2 Developing Health and Independence First point of access to the South Gloucestershire Treatment Services. Harm reduction interventions, such as needle exchange Substitute prescribing service, operated in partnership with GP Services. Open access, 1:1’s and structured group work. Wrap around support, such as housing and benefits advice.

3 South Gloucestershire Specialist Drug and Alcohol Services Assessments within 3 weeks, Treatment review every 12 weeks Blood Borne Virus interventions Alcohol intervention (community detox and relapse prevention) Opiate prescribing interventions (prescribing and psychosocial interventions) Community Opiate Detoxification – Rapid community detox and transfers Clinical psychology and psychiatric assessment Inpatient access – detox and stabilisation (£,4500 / two weeks)

4 Battle Against Tranquilisers Services for prescribed and unprescribed medication addiction Choice of support types and venues. Helpline for ongoing support Advocacy at GP/Psychiatrist appointments, DWP and Job Centre Plus interviews etc Dual diagnosis lead for the Drug and Alcohol Action Team Opportunities for Recovery activities, including volunteering Input into policy and practice, through consultation with service users BAT AGM 18 th October 2013, 6.30pm at Coniston Community Centre. 5 GP leads for Drugs and Alcohol Dr Neil Kerfoot (Kingswood Health Centre) lead GP for drug treatment and Dr Greg Clarke (Thornbury Health Centre) lead GP for alcohol treatment. They provide clinical governance to the drug and alcohol services, specialist training, peer support to South Gloucestershire health professionals and members of the South Gloucestershire Joint Commissioning Group.

6 Community Mentor: John Tellor Liaises with Service Users in the community, during and after release from Prison to ensure services continue to meet needs and ensure issues are highlighted and resolved. Liaises with Carers to ensure that they have a voice in drug and alcohol Service provision. Provides a monthly rolling comments that service users and carers can contribute comments to anonymously (if preferred) regarding good and bad points of service provision. Supports Service Users and Carers representatives who collate views from the wider community and prison groups.

7 Rehabilitation Placements Serenity House: Community rehab Alma – 12 week programme (drug free) Delta – 8 week programme (detoxing/in frequent use) £1200 (Alma) £1400 (Delta) Residential rehabilitation placements 8 Drug placements and 5 alcohol placements per year at an average cost of £15,000 per placement. Average stay 6 months. Use a variety of providers throughout the South West
