Background In Tewkesbury Borough, 19% of households do not have access to a car and 47% have access to 1 car Traffic levels in Tewkesbury are expected to rise by 1.4% per year Provision of information about existing public transport services, walking and cycling links can reduce car journeys by up to 13% Builds on the Site Specific Advice Travel Plan work conducted by Foxley Tagg in 2005

Why? To help reduce traffic congestion on access roads to the site by promoting alternatives to car journeys where possible To free up the roads to allow more efficient commercial operations To help improve access to employment opportunities for those without access to a car Reduce the need to use valuable land for car parking provision

In conclusion Approximately 40% of employees on the business parks live in the GL20 postcode area, within 5 miles of the site Provision of information to promote walking, cycling, use of public transport & car sharing through projects such as TravelSmart can reduce single occupancy car trips by up to 13% We need your help to provide information to your staff to encourage them to use alternative ways to commute to work

Questions asked at Tewkesbury J9 Meeting 13 th February Q. Could the number 41 bus go onto the estate? Q. Can we have another access route to try to control congestion? More businesses are coming to the Tewkesbury business park which brings more jobs and increases the traffic congestion. Q. Can we have an emergency access route out of Tewkesbury for when there is any flooding or an accident on the surrounding roads? Q. What is the strategy for the Tewkesbury area? Is it to grow?
