Part-time Open Enrollment District Definition Update Part-time Open Enrollment was replaced in statute with Course Options prior to the 2013-14 school year. However, the name change and corresponding program changes were not implemented during the 2013-14 school year. These changes will be in effect with the 2014-15 school year. For the 2013-14 reporting periods, the following guidance is provided: Part 1 includes the number of resident students attending another school district for purposes of participation as a student in the part-time open enrollment program. Part 2 includes the number of nonresident students attending courses offered within your district. As of school year 2013-14 (collection year 2014) CWCS Phase 4—CW1 in accordance with s. 118.52, Wis. Stats., any student enrolled in grade level K4-12 may qualify as a participant in a course options program, which equated to part-time open enrollment during the 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2013-14 school years. This count does not include resident private school and home-based students who take courses under s. 118.145(4), Wis. Stats. Nor does it include students enrolled in a post- secondary program. This data is used to complete the School Performance Report (SPR), s. 115.38, Wis. Stats. In addition, included is the number of nonresident students attending courses offered within your district. Part-time open enrollment district is collected as a required field for CWCS data collections.
