Living in Europe Life in other European countries

Norway Robert H. has been living near Bergen since 2006, he reported me about Norway Norway lives from its own resources – people are much more relaxed, work less than in Germany shorter working hours Norway is a social state, like most in Europe holidays in the whole country at the same time Norwegians don’t have too much social contacts, they are more family-oriented system of education different to Germany, less control many Norwegians do not worry about future – buy things they want to have

Sweden Laura from our school is at Gotland now – she lives there with a host family as an exchange student Education is very important in Sweden, so the state invests a lot of money in it – got a Macbook, that‘s now hers for one year – lunch and lockers are paid by the school – different kinds of teaching and learning, nearly no homework – teachers are adresssed informally, but though there is more respect towards them than in Germany more awareness concerning label clothing mobilphones are very important – if there‘s a call, one answers it, even during lessons in school

England many people are more willing to help each other than in Germany for Mr and Mrs Blumenröder, daily life was like in Germany – was shaped by family and jobs they didn’t know anyone at the beginning of their stay – but they got to know new people very fast because they are open-minded got organized a flat by a Christian organisation – but though, they had to prepare before leaving Germany they had a really wonderful time in England – they are still in contact with some English friends
