Raises the bar for creative work.

Creates more qualified instructors.

Helps our students see exciting new work by their faculty.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?

The funds for the grants come from the Samsung Endowment for Teaching and Learning, established in 1995.

HOW MUCH MONEY?

Faculty Council awards up to $40,000 annually in grants in amounts up to $5,000.

GUIDELINES

FPG awardees are required to produce objects, papers, exhibitions or other tangible results from their project.

All projects must be documented in a one page report and short presentation to the College.

Only one application will be accepted per applicant per calendar year.

WHAT MAKES FOR A GOOD PROJECT?

The project cannot be the documentation of work that has already been completed and/or exhibited.

The project cannot be the presentation of a paper that has already been written or already presented.

If the project is receiving funding from other sources (including any part of Art Center), this funding must be disclosed and the proposal must identify what the other funds will be used for in comparison to the funds from this grant.

The project’s execution can be completed and presented in a concrete way within a year of receiving the grant.

Equipment must be clearly specific to and required to complete the project. Proposals that exceed 30% allocation towards equipment must present detailed justification for the overage.

The grant would benefit Art Center College of Design through inspired and original faculty projects and advances in the fields of art or design.
