Students come to our campus for a variety of reasons: Preparation for a new career or advancement in their current job/career Educational development Completion of credits for high school diploma Apprenticeship programs Earn a certificate, license, or an Associate degree Prepare for transfer to a four-year college or university Each semester, approximately 12,000 individuals of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds attend Miramar College.

Transfer Services In the General Counseling office, Miramar students are able to speak with a counselor one-on-one regarding the transfer process, develop educational plans and long range planning forms, and sign admission guarantee contracts. In addition, the Transfer Center provides information and resources to assist students in making the transition a smooth and easy one. The Transfer Center offers: Workshops Transfer Fairs Meetings with College representatives Campus tours A library of catalogs & publications Information on transfer guarantees Computer software for college research Individual and group counseling Transfer is a collaborative effort at Miramar!

Transfer Center Plan Increase awareness of Transfer Center services for students and staff Identify and develop a system for timely identification of potential transfer students Identify and increase the number of students who successfully transfer Increase the number of students applying to 4- year colleges and universities Increase the effectiveness of the infrastructure Increase awareness of university campus life Expand communication linkages with universities Improve efficiency of Transfer Center by enhancing computer systems Develop staff training opportunities Enhance Transfer webpage Increase instructional faculty involvement in the transfer process Assess student satisfaction of transfer center services Develop transfer activities designed specifically for targeted populations Expand communication linkages with universities and local high schools

UC/CSU Freshman Admission Both CSU and UC use an Eligibility Index - a combination of GPA in required “a-g subjects” and test scores - to determine if students meet eligibility for each respective system.
