20 Shelter Homes were called “pueblos” and made from adobe, a mix of packed clay, sticks, and stones Often built on top of steep mesas for protection against attacks Ladders were used to get to the different levels

25 Shelter Earth lodges made of grass, mud, and bark
Used teepees when hunting buffalo (travois for moving them)

26 Food Summer and winter, the Pawnees hunted buffalo on the Plains.
Spring and fall, they stayed in their lodges and grew crops, such as the three sisters.

29 Location Southeast Hot, humid, plenty of rain, forests

30 Shelter Chickees-frame made out of logs and roof was covered in leaves or grass. There were no walls, and the floor was built off the ground to keep out water and snakes.
