Run-On vs. Comma Splice A run-on is a grammar error made up of 2 or more sentences incorrectly joined or “run” together without punctuation to separate them. A comma splice is the most common type of run-on sentence. It occurs when you have a comma placed in the middle of 2 run-on sentences.

(Run-On) Why is this a run-on?
Ex. 1 We will travel to California my family has chosen to fly to our destination. (Run-On) Why is this a run-on? Ex. 2 We will travel to California, my family has chosen to fly to our destination. ( Comma Splice) Why is this a comma splice?
