Other areas of Alliances ●Becoming surety (co-signer) ●Proverbs 6:1 - 5 1My child, if you have put up security for a friend’s debt or agreed to guarantee the debt of a stranger— 2if you have trapped yourself by your agreement and are caught by what you said— 3follow my advice and save yourself, for you have placed yourself at your friend’s mercy. Now swallow your pride; go and beg to have your name erased. 4Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do. 5Save yourself like a gazelle escaping from a hunter, like a bird fleeing from a net. ●Loans ●Luke 6:34 - 36 34And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return. 35“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 36You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate. ●Loans ●Luke 6:34 - 36 34And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. 5What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the spirit God has placed within us is filled with envy?... ●6But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” 7So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
