3 Ecotourism  A form of tourism that is sensitive to the health of an ecosystem.  Involves recreational activities provided by sustainable ecosystems.  Examples: hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, bird watching.  Now a multi-billion dollar industry worldwide.

4 Connectivity  The collection of links and relationships between ecosystems that are separated geographically.  Example: protection for migrating birds across the Can-US border.

5 Paradigm  A view of the world or a way of thinking about how the world works. Paradigm Shift  A slow yet significant change in the way humans view the world.  Rare

6 Major changes which are controversial when first proposed but eventually come to be accepted as a major advancement in scientific knowledge and understanding. Examples?  The world is flat.  Plants revolve around Earth.  The continents were once together.

Examples:  Fair Trade Products  Based on the transparency in business and sustainable development.  A Product’s Life Cycle  Involves making, distributing, selling, using, and disposing.
