2. MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE Marquis de Lafayette was born in 1757. Before his second birthday, his father, a colonel of grenadiers was killed at Minden. At the age of twelve his mother passed away. He was left a very young wealthy orphan. On April 19 th,1771, at the age of fourteen, he joined the royal army.

3. The Revolutionary War. Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834) was the a French general and political leader who was enthusiastically supported the American Revolution.

4. Loyalist or Patriot? Marquis de Lafayette was a Patriot. I know this because he was a French nobleman who believed in freedom & independence for the American Colonists.

5. During the war Marquis de Lafayette did survive the Revolutionary war. Sailing home to France in December 1781, Lafayette was received at Versailles, and promoted to field Marshall.

6. My Opinion. I like Marquis de Lafayette because he believed in freedom, and independence for the American colonists even though he worked for the French.

8. My Interesting things about Lafayette The most interesting thing I found about Marquis de Lafayette is that, he got married at the age of sixteen to Marie Adrienne Francoise de Noailles.
