10. GUIDELINE #1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the bell work when the tardy bell rings.

11. GUIDELINE #2 Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.

12. GUIDELINE #3 Follow directions the first time they are given.

13. GUIDELINE #4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

14. GUIDELINE #5 Actively participate in class lectures by taking notes and not disturbing those around you.

15. GUIDELINE #6 Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the OMS and Rutherford County Schools handbooks.

16. SPECIAL GUIDELINE This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this year.

Computer Procedures  You MUST ask a teacher before using the computer  No student is allowed on the computer if there is a substitute teacher  You MUST have your agenda OUT and OPEN to the computer agreement page while using the computer  You MUST sign the Computer User Log BEFORE using the computer and sign out when you are finished Signing the log will ensure continued computer use  Failure to sign the log will result in loss of computer use for a time  Remember – The Technology Support Services Department at the Rutherford County Board of Education is monitoring your Internet Activity

34. Scheduled check out Please let me know as you enter the classroom I will be at the door Quietly raise your hand to get my attention Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time (when the office calls for you) If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.

35. Turning in papers Place your paper on the table in front of the person closest to the middle aisle If/When you receive a paper, place yours on top and continue passing the stack to the middle aisle I will come by and collect all stacks

36. Classroom Discussions PLEASE participate I want to hear what you have to say Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask me later

37. CPS Activities PLEASE participate All students will receive a daily grade based on their involvement Make sure you are taking some notes; I will be taking them up at the end of class This is not a time to work on other assignments, socialize, or simply not participate

38. Moving around the room You must ask permission Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency

39. Class Dismissal The teacher dismisses you, not the bell Do not start packing up prior to the bell unless you have been instructed to do so Make sure you clean up around your area before you leave Wait until the teacher finishes and officially dismisses you with: “Have a nice day.”

Substitute Teachers Follow all of the substitute’s instructions the first time they are given Sit quietly and complete the assigned work Do not socialize with your classmates or get off task If your name is written down on the misbehaved list for any reason, you will be given a write off or “replacement” assignment that must be competed by the following morning, NO QUESTIONS ASKED If your name is put on the misbehaved list again you will be sent to early morning detention
