Beginning the Process Read – tons of literature out thereRead – tons of literature out there –Classroom Connect, ISTE, Microsoft, etc –Evaluate and choose a plan to follow (Apple) Select Your CommitteeSelect Your Committee –HS Principal, K-8 Principal, HS Teacher, MS Teacher, Elementary Teacher, Technology Coordinator, Computer Teacher(s), Techie, Parent, Distance Learning Coordinator, Librarian, a student –Optimum 7, but 9 will work

Homework –Packet of reading –Vision Statement Step One Sell the Idea –What is a technology plan? –Why have a technology plan. –Explain the process. –What is the time table? –How will we succeed - “the most important committee you will be on”

Step Two Begin to work on the VISION statement: –Brainstorm – no restrictions, just what would you like to see at your school in three years. –Look at other vision statements from other schools –Give a list of key words –Break up into groups – and write vision statements for your school Points to keep in mind when getting the VISION –Allow time for this (not just one meeting) –Let there be “discussion” in your meetings –They have to believe in it and like it
