3 As of 221030 Oct 08 UNCLASSIFIED G-1 FORSCOM 3 Background The Army recommended closing Fort McPherson as part of Base Realignment and Closure 2005 (BRAC 05) The BRAC Commission approved this recommendation, including relocating Headquarters, Forces Command (FORSCOM) and United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) to Pope Air Force Base / Fort Bragg, North Carolina By law, the Army must complete BRAC 05 actions by 15 September 2011
