THE RESULTS OF SIN Genesis 5:1-3 Mankind lost the image of God – holiness Psalm 51:5 We are all born in a sinful condition (inherited sin) Matthew 15:19 Our sinful condition leads to sinful words and actions (actual sin).

THE RESULTS OF SIN Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23 We deserve God’s punishment and eternal death. Genesis 3:16ff We suffer pain and sorrow as the consequences of sin.

WHAT DID GOD DO FOR SINFUL MANKIND What does the person who sins deserve? Death …but that a Savior would Take the punishment for us (be our substitute) Perfection is required, but that a Savior would Give His Holiness to us as a gift.
