3. ??What is SOPA??  Stop Online Privacy Act is a U.S. bill introduced to allow the government to have more power to shut down copyrighted and pirated content on countless websites.  The bill is suppose to protect “prosperity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation by combating the theft of U.S. property.”  SOPA supporters believes the movie business and Hollywood are suffering due to the lack of controllable content on the internet.

4. People Protesting Against SOPA  People want to be able Over 19,000 people protested in to access anything they NYC in front of the senators want on the internet.office building.

THE WORLD WIDE WEB  The world wide web was founded for the sole purpose for anyone to look anything up online.  The internet is free and no restrictions  Once something is on the internet it is ‘open to public’  People can post/ upload anything they want  Freedom of Speech gives ‘We The People’ the right to speak and post our views

6. No More Google, Youtube, Reddit, Twitter and countless other websites. 7. Blackout Against SOPA  Major Websites decided to “Blackout” their website to show the U.S. what their website would look like if SOPA would be passed  For the Blackout websites would place black rectangles all over their website limiting what was viewable to the public.

By The Numbers  Google's anti-censorship petition has been signed by 7 million people and obtained 13 million views that day.  7,000 sites across the net joined protest to “Blackout”  The Wikimedia Foundation says it reached 162 million people with Wikipedia's 24-hour English-language protest of the antipiracy bills  All of these protest actions eventually made 18 senators withdraw support for controversial bill.

10. SOPA Vetoed  Due to the effectiveness of the Blackout, the day after the blackout the Congressmen a majority of them switched and voted against SOPA, thus VETOING IT.
